"I don't care if Monday's blue, Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too..."

(The Cure)

Surely The Cure wrote this about the weather in Pittsburgh. When I work in the Children's Department at the reference desk, I get to see the sky turn from blue to grey to wow, windy and there goes a fire truck with its lights on.

I just followed someone's blog. Not from this group, and not from this blog profile. As aforementioned (elsewhere?), I have too many blogs. I'm hoping that there is some sort of shortcut that we'll learn next week when that is our task, because it seemed a little clunky the way I did it. And as a Children's librarian, I'm hoping that the 23 Things n'at aren't something I drop mid-July, like when I tried SLJ's 2.0 program run by Michael Stephens last summer.

Ooh, just found a link to the original 23 Things at Charlotte-Mecklenberg!!

"When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes."

(Erasmus)

Every day, I buy a cup of decaf at our library bookstore, the Book Nook. When the store manager, Karen, is training new volunteer cashiers, she tells them to be slow when they ring me up, because more often than not, I will see something that catches my eye. Hey, when mass market paper backs are 75 cents and not so old magazines are 25 cents, this place is the closest I come to a daily trip to the candy store.

Hi! I'm Suzi, and I work at Northland Public Library in McCandless Twp., which is located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. I wear two librarian hats: a part-time cataloger for the Technical Services Department, where I focus on AV items and Dewey Decimal number checks, and a part-time Children's Librarian, where I do programming such as story times and the now-famous annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover.

This is one of many many blogs (heh-hmm) that I occasionally write at. Writing is one of my favorite things to do, after reading. So welcome, and I hope we learn a lot together as we make our way through the 23 things n'at.

A little background: Helene Blowers started the 23 things movement at the Charlotte-Mecklenberg libraries and it has taken off as a Library 2.0 training program nationwide.
